Points leaders Guyana Jaguars were forced to make one change to their squad for the top-of-the table clash with Leeward Islands Hurricanes. Windies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo comes in from Shimron Hetmyer who has been called to international duties.

Jaguars will face the one team who has defeated them twice since the inception of the Professional Cricket League in 2014-15.

The four-day match, which commences on Thursday at the National Stadium, Providence, will mark the start of the fifth round of the 2018-19 season. Jaguars have won all matches in the previous rounds.

In some regards they will be boosted with the return of Bishoo, who will have a point to prove after he got the axe for the Windies squad for the first Test against England.

With the return of the leg-spinner who has not played a First-Class in the region since the 2016-17 season, where he played two matches, Hetmyer departs for the England series.

Apart from those changes, the rest of the squad remains the same from the previous round against Windward Volcanoes.

Discarded West Indies opener Kieran Powell

Jaguars have an astonishing 80.2 points, way ahead of Leeward Islands Hurricanes, who sit in second on 43.6.

Apart from previous history, Hurricanes will be buoyed after defeating Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by 245 runs.

The likes of Kieran Powell, Rahkeem Cornwall and Jeremiah Louis are all players who bring valuable experience to a unit who can spring a surprise.

This will be the first match the four-time defending champions will be without head coach Esuan Crandon. Rayon Griffith has moved up to that role and Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the new assistant coach. Griffith admitted Crandon will be missed for his insights, but insisted the players must remain focus and be consistent in the quest to win a fifth straight title.

Jaguars: Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Trevon Griffith, Leon Johnson, Keemo Paul, Anthony Bramble, Christopher Barnwell, Romario Shepherd, Veerasammy Permaul, Devendra Bishoo, Gudakesh Motie, Keon Joseph, Sherfane Rutherford, Clinton Pestano, Ramaal Lewis and Tevin Imlach.
