A 46-year-old Danielstown, Essequibo Coast man who was being questioned by Police following a report that he beat his 33-year-old reputed wife, collapsed and died at the Anna Regina Police Station Sunday night.
Dead is Om Singh and according to Police Headquarters, the man collapsed in the Enquiries Office of the Police Station shortly after 23:25hrs.
He was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday.
Police said that the reputed wife, who obtained a medical certificate, is assisting with the investigation.
