Ex-Police Constable Louie Dublin was sentenced to four years imprisonment Tuesday by Magistrate Leron Daly after he was found guilty of trafficking 558 grammes of cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

Dublin was charged in 2017 after he was caught with the illegal drugs in his possession at the Lotus Restaurant and Bar located at the CJIA, Timehri, on March 17, 2017.

At the end of the trial, Magistrate Daly ruled that Police Prosecutor Richard Hariss proved his case beyond reasonable doubt.

Two others who were also charged with the same crime – Delvor Bunbury Jr and Gavin Harris – were freed after Magistrate Daly ruled that the prosecution failed to prove its case.

The Court was told that the ex-cop was busted after a sting operation.
