Cuban woman caught climbing gate of strip club charged with overstaying

A Cuban national who was caught on video climbing over the gate of the popular Diamond Strip Club in George Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, charged with overstaying in Guyana.

Dailyn Garcia pleaded guilty to the charge which alleged that on February 5, 2019, at Georgetown, she failed to comply with conditions having received permission to stay in Guyana from December 28, 2018, to January 1, 2019.

Garcia was fined $30,000 or default six months imprisonment. She will be deported after paying her fine or serving the jail sentence.

According to reports, Garcia was intercepted by police during a raid at the Club Diamond and Bar.

Ranks from the Guyana Police Force stormed the entity after a video surfaced on social media showing Garcia climbing over the fence of the club.

She was assisted by four other women on the other side, who lifted up barbwires so she could gain entry.

Two employees from Club Diamond were charged for trafficking 10 women for sexual exploitation.
