The administration of the Mae’s Schools has cancelled all classes from Playgroup to the Secondary Department following recent threats on social media.

A statement from the School Monday urged parents to pick up their children from school immediately.

“Please note that no devices have been cited but the safety and security of our children and staffs are of the utmost importance,” the statement noted.

According to the School, the extent of this shutdown is uncertain at this time.

“As soon as the logistics are in place for the resumption of classes, you will be informed accordingly via print and electronic media.”

In the threat posted to social media, the perpetrator (s) said he/she will “blow the roof of that school” and will do it “more than once during these couple six months before I migrate.”

For the past two weeks, schools around Guyana have experienced threats of bombs and shootings, the first being School of the Nations.
