Over 50 motorcycles seized by Police

Police in ‘A’ Division at the weekend conducted an operation at the Georgetown seawalls between Camp Street and Vlissengen road where they arrested six persons for various offenses and seized 59 motorcycles.  

Police Headquarters revealed Monday that a dozen of the motorcycles was abandoned by the drivers during the operation.  

A verification of the authenticity of the documents of the said motorcycles is being done since many are suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.  

Police also found 70 grams of cannabis. 

Meanwhile, ranks also conducted a number of raids in the Number Two Sub-Division; 18 persons were detained for questioning in relation to several offenses including robbery under arms, simple larceny and housebreaking offenses.
