The day’s activities will feature several top players, a few of whom have represented the country at youth level, including Chanderpaul Ramraj, Romel Datterdeen, Krishna Deosaran, Vishnu Ramjeet, Nicholas Shiopersaud, Somnauth Bharrat, Navin Persaud, Rajindra Naikbarran, Gavin Boodwah, Vickram Doodnauth, Robin Williams and Shamzam Ali.

“Lots of prizes would be in store for outstanding performances and the coveted overall winner prize. There will also be a special prize for a crowd catch,” the organisers said.

“The event will be a family affair and will include a takeaway bar-b-que, along with side attractions, such as games for the kids, drinks and music.”

By hosting the annual competition, the Lusignan Sports Club is aiming to develop cricket in the target communities, as well as aid in the process of keeping young people away from societal ills.

Funds raised from the event will facilitate the club’s participation in competitions run by the respective area Boards and the Guyana Cricket Board, at the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Inter-Association, senior Demerara and national levels.
