Teen stabbed to death during fight over slippers  

A 24-year-old man of Swan Village Soesdyke, Linden Highway is in police custody for the murder of 19-year-old Alex Daniels, whom he allegedly stabbed to death Wednesday night at Frenchman Backdam, Essequibo River.  

News Room understands that both men were employed as miners and earlier in the evening, they consumed alcohol at Frenchman Landing with other employees.  

While returning to their mining camp, the suspect threw away Daniels’ slippers which led to an argument.  

The other employees tried to make peace between the two men but the argument continued at the camp when it is alleged that the suspect picked up a knife and stabbed Daniels to the chest and above his right hip.  

The employees took the suspect and the murder weapon to the Police at Mabura Police Station.  

Daniels’ body is also at the Mabura Police Station.
