A 25-year-old Theology student of a Bible College was on Monday charged for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman.
Samuel Whaul of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and was not required to plea to the charge when it was read in-camera.
It is alleged that on October 25, 2018, he sexually penetrated the 20-year-old without her consent in Georgetown.
Whaul was released on $200,000 bail and was ordered to keep away from the victim.
He is slated to return to court on February 25, 2019. The accused did not have legal representation.
