The Guyana Defence Force (GDF), the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and other officials are searching for a single engine Cessna aircraft which crashed in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) on Monday evening.
Director General of the GCAA, Egbert Field told the News Room that the aircraft was transporting a body from another part of the country when it went down.
News Room understands that the plane crashed in Canal Number Two.
Field also confirmed that the pilot and a police officer who were onboard are alive.
