Police ‘A’ Division Commander and team meet residents, GT vendors

Commander ‘A’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Marlon Chapman and a team of officers on Monday visited several areas in Greater Georgetown inclusive of Breda Street, Cross & Leopold streets, Hadfield Street, Cornhill & High streets, Brickdam, Croal & Avenue of the Republic.

During the visit, the team met with residents and vendors of the community and discussed issues affecting them.

These issues, the Police said, included: delinquent behaviour of youths; noise nuisance, especially from motor vehicles; the need for better Police presence, especially “plain clothes” ranks; the need for more traffic ranks to be present at the various parks; and recreational activities.

The team also visited the lockups at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and the holding area.

The Police team included Second-in-Command of ‘A’ Division, Senior Superintendent Rishi Das; Superintendent Walter Stanton and other ranks.
