West Indies got a huge blow on the morning of the first ODI against England, with news of fast bowler Kemar Roach being ruled out of the entire series.

The Bajan picked up a lower back injury, effectively ending his participation in the five-match series, which got underway in Barbados on Wednesday.

According to information reaching News Room, Roach would not be replaced in the squad. He would undergo rehabilitation, and is expected to return to action by early May, in time for the Tri-Nation Series in Ireland.

Roach was a vital member of the West Indies side that won the three-match Test series against the Englishmen 2-1. He claimed a series-high 18 wickets at 13.88 apiece and copped the Man-of-the-Series award.
