20-Y-0 student jailed for 3 years for Ecstasy pills

A 20-year-old who said he is a student of School of the Nations was on Friday sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined $30,000 by City Magistrate Leron Daly for being in possession of eight ecstasy pills.

John Adams pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on February 20, 2019, at Princes Street, he had eight ecstasy pills amounting to five grams.

Police Prosecutor Christopher Morriss said that on the day in question at about 21:00hrs, police intercepted Adams while he was riding along Princes Street on his motorcycle.

Adams was searched and the pills were found in his possession.

In court, Adams admitted ownership of the drugs and told the Magistrate that the pills are for his personal use.

According to our records, Mr. Adams exited School of the Nations in 2012 after completing Form 1 and was transferred by his parents to another school.
