President David Granger departed Guyana Tuesday morning for the Republic of Cuba to continue treatment for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma – a form of cancer.
The Ministry of the Presidency announced that he is accompanied by First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger.
The President’s diagnosis was announced on November 14, 2018, and since then he has made several trips to Cuba for his Chemotherapy treatment.
Since his diagnosis and subsequent treatment, the President has reduced his public engagements.
Following his recent treatment, the medical team commended the President’s progress.
“Thus far, the Cuban Medical Team assigned to President Granger has said that the President’s progress has exceeded their expectations,” a statement from Guyana’s Embassy in Cuba noted on February 4.
