GABBFF’s AGM and elections now March 3
The Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF) will now host its Annual General Meeting and elections on Sunday March 3 at the Giftland Mall Administration Building, starting 11:00h.
The building is located across the Giftland Mall parking lot on the southern side at Plantation Pattensen, Turkeyen.
The event was initially fixed for Saturday March 2 at the Guyana Olympic Association headquarters at Liliendaal.
President of the Federation Coel Marks said: “In an effort to facilitate maximum participation this adjustment to the date and time was made. We anticipate a robust interaction with fans of the sport and we expect participants to come and ventilate all concerns that may linger. It will be a great day for exchanging of ideas to aid in the propulsion of the sport in Guyana.”
Marks had told News Room Sport that persons who wish to vote can register before or on the day of the elections and the affiliate membership fee is G$1000.
The six executive posts to be contested are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, General Secretary, Assistant Treasurer and the Organising Secretary; there are also six Committee Members.
Marks, who is seeking re-elections, further indicated that Keavon Bess, a former president, is contesting the elections, along with Videsh Sookram, a former Organising Secretary, and Yannick Grimmes.
Delegates would now be required to cast a ballot, a change from the previous format of voting, which was done by a show of hands.
