Ranks of the Guyana Police Force on Saturday morning conducted raids at the Stabroek Market, Ferry Stelling Area and Route 31, 32, 40, 41 and 44 bus parks where 13 persons were arrested and several prohibited items seized.
A police statement disclosed that 128 grams of Marijuana seeds, 561 grams of cannabis, a quantity of small-sized ziplock bags and other undisclosed prohibited items were found.
Police said three persons were detained for narcotics possession and the others for questioning in relation to several offences.
The Cordon and Search Operation took place between 10:00hrs and 13:00hrs by ranks from the Force’s ‘A’ Division, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, Canine Department, Crime Lab, Construction Department, Tactical Services Unit, Firearms Section, Public Relation Office and the Narcotics Branch.
