Nineteen-year-old Chris Pollard appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty Wednesday slapped with five robbery charges allegedly committed in Georgetown.

Pollard of Durban Street, Lodge pleaded not guilty to the five charges and was remanded to prison until March 27, 2019.

Particulars of the first charge alleged that on March 4, 2019, at North East La Penitence, Georgetown, he robbed Rosemarie Demarrias of her LG cellphone valued US$120 and US$1,800 in cash.

The second charge alleged that on February 24, 2019, at Croal Street, Georgetown the teenager robbed Tashanna Persaud of a Samsung cellphone valued $75,000.

It is further alleged that on February 14, 2019, at Croal Street, Pollard robbed Bharrat Danios of US$500 in cash using personal violence.

It is alleged that on the same day, Pollard while being armed with a knife at Croal Street, he robbed Aneesa Kissoon of a $120,000 cellphone.

The last charge alleged that on February 19, 2019, at Coral Street, Pollard robbed Natasha Nurse of a $120,000 cellphone.

Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummel objected to bail on the grounds that the teenager is a repeat offender and is a well-known character.

In January, Pollard was charged before a City Magistrate for a similar offence and was released on $40,000 bail.
