Police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old lad of Benett Dam, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice (WCB) whose body was discovered at about 13:00hrs on Saturday.
Hemraj Mulshie, police said left home at about 08:00 hrs on Thursday to accompany a fisherman, Tameshwar Sookdeo Lot 10 Cotton Tree, WCB to pick up flags.
Mulshie’s mother, Devika Seeram told police that the Fisherman called and informed her at about 18:00hrs that he was with the teen and eight other persons and they all went swimming.
The fisherman alleged that when he came out of the water and began searching for the teen but he could not be found.
A report was made at Blairmont Police Station.
Mulshie’s body was found at 13:00hrs on Saturday in the Berbice River in the vicinity of Blairmont old ferry stelling in a partly decomposed state.
No marks of violence were found on the body, police said.
