Father of one killed in Corentyne accident

A 29-year-old resident of Phillipe Village, Corentyne Berbice succumbed to his injuries Thursday morning after the car he was travelling in crashed into a bus shed at the Number 43 Village Public Road just after midnight on Tuesday.

Dead is Kenrick Matheson, a father of one.

News Room understands that Matheson’s cousin was driving the car while under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

The driver and a third person, who was seated in the back seat, received minor injuries.

Matheson was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital and then transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he died early Thursday morning.

Matheson was a truck driver and was described as a humble and hardworking person.

News Room was told just four months ago he became a father.
