A 30-year-old businessman of Batavia Island, Cuyuni River is in Police custody for the murder of his 19-year-old employee and relative, Dave Boyal whom he allegedly stabbed to death with an arrow.
Police Headquarters revealed that the victim, a miner of Batavia, Cuyuni River and others were in their hammocks at around 22:00hrs Friday at Blackwater Island Backdam, Cuyuni River when the suspect entered the camp and cut down the hammocks.
Police said the victim tried to stop him when the intoxicated suspect stabbed him in the abdomen with an arrow.
The body is presently at the Bartica Hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
