Months after release from prison youth back in jail for armed robberies
Months after his release following a two-year jail sentence for an unlicensed firearm, a 20-year-old Mason was on Monday remanded to prison by City Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on two armed robbery charges.
Adam Mohammed is now accused of robbing Talmatti Persaud at gunpoint of a handbag, cell phone and other items amounting to $36,000 on March 1, 2019, at East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme.
The second charge alleged that on August 22, 2018, at Albouystown, while being armed with a gun, he robbed Andre Jordon of a Guyana passport valued $5,000.
Mohammed, of Calendar Street, Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the two charges; he did not have legal representation.
Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris said he was positively pointed out during an identification parade after allegedly committing the act.
He was remanded to prison until April 8, 2019.
