The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) held its fourth UncappeD event, at the Guyana National Stadium on Sunday.

This year’s event featured 70 local agro-processors showcasing an impressive array of products, made with local raw materials.

The Guyana National Bureau of Standards, a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Business also participated in the event, giving patrons an opportunity to learn of various standards that are related to agro-processing and agro products.

The agency promoted standards as it relates to the specification of sweet potatoes, green plantains pineapples and salted fish.

Head of Marketing and Communications at the GNBS Mr. Syeid Ibrahim, according to the statement, mentioned that it takes time for society to accept standards and the GNBS is willing to work with businesses across the various industries in Guyana to improve the quality of their products and services.

He also mentioned about the other services that GNBS has to offer such as Training and Consultancy, Certification and Calibration and Testing which is all needed to create a competitive edge and allow persons to be able to contribute to the expanding economy.
