The National Stadium Tarmac will be a vehicle lover’s delight on July 14 when the second annual Platinum Auto Expo is held from 14:00h.

Coordinator Mahendra ‘Raj’ Boodhoo confirmed to News Room on Tuesday the date and new venue; the inaugural event was held at GT Motorsports last August.

Boodhoo indicated that to ensure maximum spectator participation, the entrance fee has been lowered to G$1,000.

In addition to various display booths by corporate partners, there will be 30 categories in which vehicles can be entered. As was the case last year, a panel of judges would be assembled to decide on the winners of each category.

Boodhoo said security would a top priority, while other details surrounding the accompanying events on the day would be released closer to the date.

He is urging Guyanese to get their tickets early, once the ticket locations are announced, as he envisages a sold-out event this year.

Last year’s event was relatively successful, with owners using the opportunity to showcase their prized possessions. The antique cars, the majority of which came from Berbice, were a major hit with patrons.
