A motorcyclist was on Friday killed in an accident on the Blairmont Public Road, West Bank Berbice (WBB).
Police said 34-year-old Tyron Kishore of 141 Plantation Hope Bath, WBB was driving motorcycle #CH 6922, allegedly at a fast rate of speed when he lost control and collided with the right side of a motorcar #HC4204 driven by 45-year-old Deodauth Surujpaul of DeEdward Village, West Coast Berbice.
The collision caused the motorcycle to end up in a trench on the western side of the road. Also on the motorcycle was a pillion rider who has not yet been identified.
Kishore was picked up in an unconscious state while the pillion rider was picked up in a conscious state and rushed to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital.
Kishore was pronounced dead on arrival while the pillion rider was admitted to the hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
