Police have arrested a male suspect in connection with the murder of an Essequibo businesswoman.
According to Commander ‘G’ Division, Khali Persharam, the suspect was arrested at Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) on Saturday.
The body of the businesswoman, Nazarene Haniff was discovered Friday at her Lot 347 Red Village Extension Scheme, Onderneeming Essequibo home at about 13:15hrs with injuries to the face and body while her home was ransacked.
The Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The body is presently at the Suddie Public Hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
