Allicock commissions new Region Nine RDC Office

Minister of Indigenous Peoples Affairs Sydney Allicock, performing the duties of Prime Minister, on Monday commissioned the newly constructed RDC Office in Region Nine.

At the event, Allicock expressed confidence that the new office will be used to execute services to deliver “the good life” to the people of Region Nine.

Minister Allicock handed over fire extinguishers to the Council as part of efforts to promote Occupational Health and Safety. Two motorcycles were also handed over to improve the Administrative and Education departments to assist in the execution of their daily task.

2. Motorcycle keys handed over to DEO Chiveon Success and DREO – Administration, Ms Audrey Gomes

The first phase of the work commented in 2017 and the contract was awarded to AAV Raghubir General Construction valued at $17 million. This phase saw the construction of the REO’s Office, A boardroom, secretary office and a waiting area.

The second phase began in June, with the contract being awarded to N&A Construction at a value of $19 million. Offices of the Personnel, Planning Unit, DREO (Admin and Planning), Tourism and Procurement were constructed.

The offices of the Regional Chairman and Regional Vice Chairman were also renovated.
