Pedal cyclist killed in Providence hit and run

Police are investigating an accident which claimed the life of a 43-year-old man of lot 46 Nelson Street Mocha East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Police Headquarters revealed that Arnold Kissonlall was riding north along the eastern lane of the Providence Public Road, EDB in the vicinity of the bridge which separates Peters Hall from Providence village, when he was struck down by an unknown motor vehicle.

The incident occurred at about 15:30hrs Monday.

Kissonlall received injuries to the head and reportedly died at the scene of the accident while the vehicle fled the scene.

News Room understands that Police ranks checked for witnesses and CCTV footage but no useful information was obtained.

The body is presently at the Lyken funeral parlour awaiting a post mortem examination.
