    Top Brandz Distributors through their Corona Beer, have continued their partnership with Petra Organisation for another instalment of their exciting Futsal Tournament which kicks-off May 4 at the National Gymnasium.

    The tournament which features 24 teams was launched Thursday at the Top Brandz Broad Street warehouse.

    Co-Director of the Petra Organisation Troy Mendonca told the gathering their concept is to have a mixture of club and inter-ward teams from Georgetown, bringing non-stop action for the audience.   Eleven Club teams and thirteen inter-ward teams will contest.

    Those teams are: Wolves United, Tucville, Kingston, North East La Penitence, Leopold Street, Flamingo, Back Circle, Camptown, Sparta Boss, Black Pearl, GT Panthers, Bent Street, Pele, California Square, Georgetown Football Club, West Front Road, Broad Street, Mocha, Order & Discipline, Future Stars, Beacons, Sophia, Eastveldt and Tiger Bay.

    Teams will contest firstly on a straight knockout basis after which the remaining twelve will be placed into three groups of four. Top two teams along with best three third-place finishers advance.

    Round robin action commences May 11 and the final is slated for June 8.

    Meanwhile, Brand Manager for Corona, Colin Stuart, indicated the track record of Petra made it a simple deal to continue to the partnership. He affirmed that fans will gain wholesomely by attending matches and there will be countless giveaway on  their   other products.

    The tournament will have eight playing dates and the only change might come on May 25 depending on the prevailing circumstances.

     For teams who win their group they will be awarded $40,000, second ($30,000), third ($15,000) and fourth ($10,000), as an added incentive to increase decisive play even in group matches.

     The championship prize stands at $500,000. Second to fourth pocket $250,000, $150,000 and $75,000 respectively. Most Valuable Player and a lucky fan are also expected to be rewarded handsomely.
