The Most Valuable Player of the Corona Futsal competition will ride away with a spanking new Hero motor-cycle, compliments of Rose Ramdehol Auto Sales.
The presentation of the bike was made on Thursday to representatives of the Petra Organisation, the coordinating body of the tournament.
Rose Ramdehol Auto Sales, the exclusive dealer for Hero Motor Corp in Guyana, last year presented a bike to a lucky fan. This time around, it would a player who would be riding off like a ‘Hero.’
Joshua Ramdehol of Hero Guyana said such a gesture is a natural fit, as sport has always been an area of investment for Hero globally.
Hero is a major partner in the Indian Premier League, the title sponsor of the Caribbean Premier League and the Hero Golf World Challenge.
“So it’s part of our social responsibility here in Guyana to mirror what is being done globally, and continue the work Hero is doing in encouraging youths through sports,” Ramdehol stated.
Ramdehol also touched on the impact the tournament has been making, as its presents an avenue for unity and camaraderie among youths.
“There is more to it than just a tournament. I was at many games last year (and) it was exhilarating and enjoyable and I encourage everyone to come as this year is anticipated to be much bigger,” Ramdehol said.
Co-Director, Troy Mendonca, was elated to have Hero part of the football fraternity as Petra Organisation continues its push to popularise and expand community-based football.
Mendonca wished Ramdehol and his business well, as he spoke of a desire for a long and fruitful partnership.
