Bangladesh defeated West Indies by five wickets to go top of the table in the Tri-Nation Series featuring hosts Ireland. On Monday, opener Shai Hope continued his fine form with 87 and skipper Jason Holder stroked 62, but no other batsman got past Sunil Ambris’ 23.

Mustafizur Rahman picked up 4-43 and Mashrafe Mortaza 3-60 as West Indies posted 247-9. Bangladesh in reply were never really in any trouble, knocking off the target in 47.2 overs.

Mushfizur Rahim led the chase with 63, while opener Soumya Sarkar made 54. Mohammed Mithun chipped in with 43 as Bangladesh chalked up their second win in three games.

Ashley Nurse took 3-53. Bangladesh and Ireland will clash in the final group game on Wednesday. The final between West Indies and Bangladesh takes place on Friday.
