A 12-member mixed jury on Friday found a 28-year-old man guilty of the murder of Michael Hamilton, who was shot and killed six years ago at Sparendaam Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara.
Junior Henry, called Oswald, 28, formerly of Third Street, Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara was found guilty of the October 7, 2013 murder.
He was represented by attorneys-at-law Lyndon Amsterdam and Latoya Roberts, while the State is represented by prosecutors TiffiniLyken and Sarah Martin.
The sentencing was deferred until May 31, 2019.
According to the Police, Hamilton was shot in the chest and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The men reportedly had an ongoing feud over a woman, said to have been Henry’s girlfriend.
