Mahaicony truck driver charged with attempted murder of boss
A 34-year-old truck driver was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the attempted murder of his boss.
Kenny Paul of Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara was not required to plea to the indictable charge which alleged that on May 17, 2019, at Marabunta, Mahdia, Region 8, he wounded Paul Troy with the intent to commit murder.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the court that both parties are employed at the same dredging operation where Troy is the General Manager.
Mansfield explained that on the day in question there was a misunderstanding between the two when Paul armed himself with a cutlass and chopped the General Manager about the body.
The Prosecutor explained that the victim is currently hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital with injuries to his left hand and face.
Paul was remanded until July 16 and the case was transferred to the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court.
