A route 48 minibus driver and conductor appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with the rape of a 12-year-old school girl.
Keron Adams, a 19-year-old minibus conductor of ‘D’ Field, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown was not required to plea to the charge which alleged that on October 30, 2018, in Georgetown, he engaged in sexual penetration with a child who is under the age of 16.
Meanwhile, 41-year-old minibus driver Roy Roach was charged with causing the child to have sexual penetration with Adams. Roach was not required to plea to the charge.
The matters were heard in camera and the duo was remanded to prison until May 29.
The News Room understands that the child was a passenger in the minibus when Roach allegedly drove to a house in Georgetown and locked the child in the room with Adams.
