A 24-year-old minibus conductor was on Friday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl.
Dorian Fredericks of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and was not required to plea to the charge.
The court heard that during the month of October, 2016, Fredericks engaged in sexual penetration with the 18-year-old girl, without her consent.
Fredericks was unrepresented and was remanded to prison until May 29, 2019.
According to reports, both parties are known to each other and on the day in question, Fredericks assaulted the teen and raped her.
The teen told her parents and the matter was reported to the Police.
