A 28-year-old mason was on Wednesday arrested and taken to the Lusignan Prison, where he will serve three-years imprisonment for an armed robbery.

Dellon McLean of East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme was last year found guilty of the charge by City Magistrate Faith Mcgusty and was sentenced in absentia, since he was not attending court while on bail.

The Magistrate had issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Wednesday, June 5,2019, McLean was arrested by a party of police at a City location after being on the run from authorities.

He was taken to the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was transferred to the prison.

McLean was charged for the September 5, 2017 robbery of Shonetta Boyce.

According to reports, on the day in question, the Boyce was at Bourda Market buying fruits when the defendant approached her and pointed a gun at her and snatched her gold chain, before making good of his escape.

The gold chain was valued at $168,000.
