Bomb threat at GRA forces evacuation

Staff and customers at the Guyana Revenue Authority were forced to evacuate the Camp Street, Georgetown head office at around 9:30hrs on Thursday, allegedly over reports of a bomb in the building.

The Guyana Fire Service and the Guyana Police Force are at the location assessing the alleged threat.

Public Relations Officer Fabian Clowes told the News Room that the alarm went off at around 9:30hrs and staff began to exit the six storey building.

The office houses approximately 700 staff members.
