PSC mourns death of Alston ‘Kim’ Kissoon

See below full statement of the Private Sector Commission (PSC) issued on Thursday:

It is with great sadness that the Private Sector Commission has learned of the passing of Mr. Alston ‘Kim’ Kissoon.

Kim was a champion of the private sector in the days of the transitioning to a free market in Guyana and the reemergence of a private sector.  He was a fearless fighter who truly believed in the new economic system of the late eighties and became the President of what was then a young Guyana Manufacturing Association.

As President of the GMA he contributed significantly to the new Economic Recovery Programme and will be remembered for his ability to always think outside of the box.

Kim will be sadly missed by his private sector colleagues.

The Private Sector Commission extends deep condolences to his family and the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association.
