Seventeen-year-old Charmaine Lamazon of Tucville, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly Friday accused of smuggling a lighter inside a food box to a prisoner at the East Ruimveldt Police Station.

Lamazon pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on June 5, 2019, at East Ruimveldt Police Station, she brought a prohibited article for Daniel Boutrin, a prisoner.

The mother of one was released on $40,000 bail and the matter is adjoined until July 18, 2019.

Reports indicate that Boutrin is in custody for a series of offences and is the father of Lamazon’s child.

The lighter was found when the Police searched the food box that Lamazon took for Boutrin.
