Coalition, PPP should share governance till elections – ANUG
The APNU+AFC Coalition should invite the opposition PPP to participate in the governance of the country until elections are held, the newly-formed A New and United Guyana (ANUG) party said Wednesday afternoon.
Party Executive Timothy Jonas said that the interest of the nation requires that the two sides break the cycle and work together and this would serve as the “testing ground” for inclusive governance.
Jonas, speaking at a press conference, said it is time for the two parties to meet to discuss not just setting a timeline for elections but to agree on a methodology for inclusive governance for both sides to have a say in how the country is run until elections are held.
He repeated that this is the time to experiment with a shared governance model and this will serve to inspires confidence in the electoral process.
Jonas countered that he doesn’t think the parties will decide on ANUG’s proposal but he said it is the only option in the interest of Guyana.
