It will be a case of entertainment on and off the golf course this Saturday.
The Lusignan Golf Club has partnered with local companies Wine Cellar and Massy Distribution to host what is dubbed ‘A celebration of wines, cheeses, fine dining and championship golf.’
The golfers will tee-off at 09:00h, with the wine tasting and cheese sampling taking centre stage from 14:00h.
“It’s an open-to-the-public event, it’s a massive event, it’s a grand event,” president of the Golf Club Aleem Hussain said with much fervour at the official launch on Thursday.
Hussain outlined that Saturday’s event would be similar to the highly successful and well-attended Wine and Soca Fest held last year at the golf course.
Apart from indulging in the off-course activities, the outstanding golfers will get to carry home or maybe consume immediately if they so desire special bottles of wines that Wine Cellar have put up as prizes.
“The prizes are going to be really, really topnotch,” Hussain posited.
Marcia Nadir-Sharma, the proprietor of Wine Cellar, said she has teamed up with Massy Distribution to make Saturday a memorable day, offering tasting of premium wines and sampling of the appropriate cheeses.
“We thought it would be a very keen opportunity to team up with golf and promote basically exclusive wines with a prestigious sport. The whole point of doing a wine tasting with cheese sampling is essentially to give you an idea of what the sideline activities can be like,” Nadir-Sharma indicated.
Wine Cellar came into being three years ago as a wholesale entity, and has expanded its operations in 2019 to a retail outlet at MovieTowne Guyana.
The top two players in each of the three Flights- 0-9, 10-19 and 20-28- would be rewarded as well the player who records the Longest Drive and Nearest-to-the-Pin.
