Businesswoman robbed, badly beaten by bandits

A brazen early morning robbery has left an Austin Street Campbellville, Georgetown businesswoman with injuries to the head after she was badly beaten by three bandits.

The News Room understands that three armed men scaled the woman’s fence, attacked her and then calmly walked away towards the Kitty railway line at around 10:00hrs.

The injured woman has been identified as ‘Babby’ Singh who is in her mid-40s; she was beaten in the head with a gun.

The News Room understands Ms Singh was home alone with a maid when the men attacked. The bandits escaped with a large amount of cash, the News Room was told.

She and her husband are involved in the trading business.

Residents in the area are in shock and had no idea that the woman was robbed until she raised an alarm.
