MVP Sports, located in the Giftland Mall, has signed champion Crossfit athletes Dillon Mahadeo and Delice Adonis as Brand Ambassadors.
Dubbed the fittest male and female in Guyana, the CrossFit 592 duo, following a rigorous five-week, online-based fitness regime, earlier this year qualified to compete as Guyana’s representatives to the prestigious Reebok CrossFit Games in Wisconsin, USA, from July 29 to August 4.
It is the first time Guyana would be represented at the global event.
For the first time, the 2019 CrossFit Open crowned National Champions at the conclusion of the worldwide competition, marking CrossFit’s expansive and inclusive global nature and a proud victory for the 236 individuals who earned the right to represent their country at the 2019 Games.
Mahadeo got the nod to fly the Golden Arrowhead after finishing as the fittest of 21 men who entered for a chance to represent the country at the event, while Adonis emerged top of a field of 10 females.
Apart from associating Mahadeo and Adonis to its brand, MVP Sports has undertaken to provide sponsorship to make the trip to the USA possible.
Ian Ramdeo, Manager at MVP Sports, said of the alliance: “MVP Sports is firmly committed to supporting athletes such as Mahadeo and Adonis, who have demonstrated a level of talent, dedication and discipline in their sport. The company will be lending its support to other athletes and sports in the very near future.”
Mahadeo said: “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to represent the entity MVP Sports as a Brand Ambassador. I really love their line of products and I’m very delighted to have been endorsed by them. I would like to thank the management for their generous support in this endeavour to represent Guyana at the Reebok CrossFit Games 2019, and I’m looking forward to working with the company in the future.”
Adonis expressed gratitude to MVP Sports for establishing a partnership with Crossfit community.
“The CrossFit Games is the biggest test of fitness. We’re really excited about being able to represent Guyana, and we do foresee that it will be a very interesting and challenging competition. I definitely plan to represent Guyana to the best of my ability and make everyone that is supporting us here proud. I would like to say thank you to all of the sponsors that are making this trip possible- MVP Sports, Fitness Express and everyone else that has contributed in some way or another to financing our trip to the CrossFit Games,” Adonis said.
The Reebok Games is the pinnacle of CrossFit globally and the prestigious title of ‘fittest on earth’ is at stake. While Mahadeo and Adonis will compete in the Individual category, there will be rivalry in the Team, Teen and Masters divisions.
