Man dies after speeding car crashes into tree
The wrecked vehicle on the Essequibo Coast public road
An accident at Cullen on the Essequibo Coast early Sunday morning has left one person dead and another hospitalised.
Dead is Premnarine Rampersaud reportedly of Bartica, Region Seven.
An eyewitness told the News Room that the motorcar HB6973 was speeding on the public road when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree on the road side.
The eyewitness said Rampersaud who was in the front seat of the motorcar was pinned in the vehicle and was removed in an unconscious state.
The other male occupant was in the back seat of the vehicle and is reportedly at the Suddie Hospital. Reports are that the driver fled the scene after the accident.
The accident occurred at about 07:00hrs.
