Annandale man killed in hit and run

Police are looking for the driver of a motorcar who allegedly struck down a 31-year pedal cyclist resulting in his death on the Annandale Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara at around 22:00hrs Sunday.

Dead is Leon Fung-A-Fat, a labourer of Robindra Street, Annandale.

According to a Police report, Fung-A-Fat was proceeding west along the southern side of the road when the car, which was heading in the same direction, collided with him.

The driver drove away from the scene and according to the Police, the victim was picked up in an unconscious state and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
