A 31-year-old Hadfield Street, Lodge resident was on Thursday sentenced to three years jail after being found guilty of being in possession of an illegal gun and matching ammunition.
Charles Stoby was on trial before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
He was found guilty of having a 9MM pistol along with two matching rounds in his possession without being the holder of a firearm license on November 5, 2018, at Alexander Street, Kitty.
The court heard that on the day in question, Stoby was stopped by the Police at Alexander Street, Kitty after he was observed acting in a suspicious manner.
Stoby was searched by the Police and the gun was found in the crotch of his pants.
