Kitty mechanic remanded for illegal possession of high powered rifle

A 32-year-old motorcycle mechanic of Kitty, Georgetown was remanded to prison Wednesday for the illegal possession of a Bushmaster Carbon AR 15 Pistol.

Devon Atkinson known as ‘Wild Buck’ pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that he had the high powered rifle in his possession on July 14, 2019, at the Linden/Soesdyke Highway when he is not a licensed firearm holder.

He appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Providence Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to prison until August 6, 2019.

According to reports, on the day in question, Atkinson was at an event at a creek outside of the Splashmin’s Resort when he was observed by Police Officer pulling out the weapon from his backpack.

The cop alleged that he discharged several rounds in the air. Atkinson was represented by Attorney-at-law Siand Dhurjon whose bail application was unsuccessful.
