Police in the United States are probing the murder of 24-year-old Kennan Paul who was stabbed to death Wednesday at the Gun Hill Apartments in Ithaca allegedly by his cousin who is now on the run.
The News Room has confirmed that Paul, who lived in Sophia, Georgetown, migrated to the U.S in August 2016.
A brother Jomo Brusheildon Paul, a former journalist, told the News Room that Kennan lived in New Jersey but was working in Ithaca at a construction site when he got into an argument with a cousin who then stabbed him.
Jomo said that his brother died at the Cayuga Medical Center. He leaves to mourn a 14-month old daughter.
A report on localsyr.com noted that the Ithaca Police Department said that the stabbing happened at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the report, Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick said it was not a random attack.
The report noted that “Police are looking for a suspect, who is described as a black male who was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and tan shoes and is around 5’6” with a medium-cut afro. If you see someone fitting this description, you’re asked to call 911.”
