A 32-year-old vendor was on Friday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for allegedly attempting to murder his girlfriend.
Trion Parks of Old Road Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which alleged that on July 1, 2019, at Bagotstown, EBD, he wounded Cresheia Nero, with the intent to commit murder.
Parks was represented by Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson who told the court that it is his client who is the actual victim and alleged that Nero attacked Parks.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers made no objection to bail but requested that conditions are attached.
The alleged victim, who was present in court, explained that she still feels victimized and denied that she attacked Parks.
According to her, the accused threw a louvre window pane at her and burst her lip.
The Chief Magistrate requested to see the medical report from the doctor and based on her assessment, Parks was remanded to prison until August 5, 2019.
Prior to this incident, the accused was out on $1.5M bail for allegedly breaking into L. Seepersaud Maraj and Sons Jewellery Store at the Stabroek Market and carted off $22M worth in jewellery.
