West Indies, India tickets on sale from Monday in Guyana

As the dates for the Guyana leg of the India tour of the Caribbean draw near, the local ticket office is scheduled to be open in the new week. The message is to get those tickets early, as sold out crowds are anticipated.

Tickets for the Guyana leg of the tour would be sold at the Guyana Cricket Board office on Regent Road, Bourda, from 09:00h on Monday July 22.

West Indies and India would square off in two games at the National Stadium, Providence, in August on the Asians’ one-month tour of the Caribbean.

The two teams clash in the last of three T20 Internationals, starting at 10:30h on August 6, and then two days later, they meet in the first of three ODI matches, commencing at 09:30h.

Tickets for children aged 12 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket for all matches.

Senior citizens – aged 60-plus – on presentation of a form of national photo ID at the local box office are also eligible for free tickets while stocks last.

This is the first time India would be playing at the National Stadium. Virat Kohli’s men were one of the favourites to win the recently concluded Cricket World Cup in England and Wales, but were knocked out at the semi-final stage.

West Indies, led by Jason Holder, finished in the penultimate spot on the points table, chalking up just two wins from nine games in the 10-team tournament.
