Police are on the hunt for three suspects who beat a 20-year-old fisherman to death and left his brother hospitalized in a serious condition at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Police Headquarters revealed that the incident took place at about 22:45hrs Thursday night at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
Dead is Alvin known as ‘Chockoloo’ of 820 ‘G’ Zeelugt North, EBE and injured is Devendra ‘Shameer’ Seenarine.
The Police said that the brothers were imbibing at a relative’s home in Zeelugt but subsequently left on a bicycle and shortly after a loud commotion was heard nearby.
Upon investigating, the suspects, who were armed with “instruments” were seen beating ‘Shameer’ while Alvin was discovered motionless with multiple wounds about his body a short distance away.
They were taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where Alvin was pronounced dead on arrival.
